Purpose Section

This procedure establishes the methods used by Receiving Inspection (RI) to inspect and process incoming material.

All parts specifically manufactured for YCNH must be verified or otherwise ensured to conform to the specified requirements before being used or processed. This is accomplished by either receiving a certificate of conformance or performing receipt inspection.

"Off-the-shelf" or "catalog" parts (sold to consumers other than just YCNH) do not require receipt inspection.
